About

Julie Wilson’s passion for dog training began 40 years ago with a desire to build a deep and lasting connection with her first dog. What started as an effort to teach basic obedience soon evolved into a lifelong commitment to training and competition. Through consistent practice and participation in competitions across the Pacific Northwest and Canada, Julie honed her skills and earned multiple first-place titles and High in Trial honors. Her success stemmed from a strong foundation of effective training and an understanding of how to foster trust and loyalty in dogs.

Over the years, Julie expanded her expertise by assisting fellow dog owners and guiding families in training their pets. She offers a comprehensive range of training services, including basic obedience, housebreaking, puppy training, and advanced behavior modification. While her competitive experience has primarily involved her own German Shepherds, Julie’s extensive knowledge and experience spans dogs of all breeds and ages. Her adaptable approach ensures that each dog receives personalized attention to develop into a well-behaved, balanced companion.

As a mother of four, Julie has trained dogs alongside her children, emphasizing the importance of raising dogs that are not only well-behaved but also protective and integral members of the family. Her ability to work not only with dogs but also with their families has made her training efforts highly successful and rewarding. She creates consistent and clear training environments where everyone is aligned on techniques and expectations.

Julie’s deep connection to animals began in her small-town upbringing, where her father managed a feed mill. Surrounded by dogs, horses, and livestock, she developed a lifelong love for animal care. She fondly recalls attending county fairs, visiting ranches, and learning about different animals. These formative experiences influenced her philosophy on dog training, which focuses on nurturing a relationship rooted in patience, mutual respect, and understanding.

To Julie, training goes beyond teaching commands; she encourages building strong, trusting bonds between dogs and their owners. She emphasizes observing a dog’s thought process and allowing them the space to respond thoughtfully and confidently. This approach not only results in well-behaved pets but also fosters a deeper, more fulfilling connection.

Now based in Monument, Colorado, Julie continues to share her expertise with local dog owners. She strives to create an environment where dogs feel secure, understood, and take their place as cherished members of the family. For Julie, training is more than just teaching commands—it’s about nurturing a bond that brings joy and balance to both the dog and their owner.
